Christy Moore
Founder and CEO
Rev. Christy Moore is the Founding CEO of StoneSoup Community Venture, the 501(c)3 organization offering Tulsa’s Table. With personal and professional experiences connected to food justice, Christy believes all people have the basic human right to food. Moreover, because everyone needs to eat to live, she understands food as a common denominator that reveals our shared humanity and provides opportunities to create social change for those on the margins of life. As a result, Tulsa’s Table extends a personal and corporate invitation for everyone to participate in the delights of nourishment, community and purpose discovered around the common table.
With many years of experience in the field of human services, Christy has served populations across the lifespan. Her work includes the roles of Parent Educator for Parents as Teachers in Tulsa Public Schools, School-Based Case Manager for Big Brothers and Sisters of Oklahoma at Roosevelt Elementary, Academic Advisor for Tulsa Community College, Coordinator of Caregiver Support at LIFE Senior Services and Director of Family and Older Adult Ministries at First Christian Church, Tulsa. The food insecurity and need for community connection revealed through all these situations contributed to the vision of StoneSoup Community Venture. Christy most recently received the Point of Light Award from Tulsa Metropolitan Ministries and her work and vision has been featured in state and local print and television media.
Christy is never far from the pairing of food and community. She carries a personal appreciation for the beauty and bounty of agricultural settings coupled with the availability and taste of local, fresh foods. Cooking and baking, especially with a group of people in the kitchen find frequent expression with her family and friends. Her love for nature is enjoyed through outdoor activities such as sailing, bicycling or hiking with her husband while reading and sketching provide avenues of relaxation and reflection along the way.
